Add 3D to Your Adobe® Photoshop® Artwork with One Click.

Could you be suffering from 3DAD? Many Graphic Designers are, and they are not even aware! See how to overcome 3DAD with the 3DVIA Plugin for Photoshop.

See the real benefits of 3D for Adobe Photoshop users in this video.  Adobe Photoshop recently added more 3D functionality within the last two versions of their Creative Suite (CS3, CS4) products, which make 3D very simple, however, finding and importing 3D Models has not been very easy…until now.

3DVIA is proud to announce 3DVIA for Adobe® Photoshop®, our plugin for importing 3D models directly into Adobe Photoshop compositions.

With just one click, and without ever leaving the Photoshop window, search through the 3DVIA.com model library to select a model and bring it directly into your Photoshop composition. Once there, the model appears as its own layer and can be scaled, positioned and lit as desired.

I need to export 2d or 3d vector images from Solidworks for creating product documentation. Ultimate destination is probably Frameworks, perhapes via photoshop. Would like to retain vector format. This must be a common requirement. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

who can create 3DVIA files? is there also a free plug in for AutoCAD or SolidWorks?

    • Cliff says:

From SolidWorks, you can publish directly to 3dvia.com, then you can use your 3D model within SolidWorks. With autoCAD, you will need to export to DAE, DXF, or OBJ formats, then upload the file (and textures). Once uploaded, use the Photoshop plugin to instantly use within Photoshop.

The Mac version is in development right now, so hopefully soon.
While you wait, you can still download 3DVIA content, and use within Photoshop for the Mac, it just takes a couple extra steps…From 3DVIA.com, search for the 3D model that you need, then select Download –> DAE file.

Download and uncompress the DAE file. Now you can add the DAE as a layer within Photoshop (under the 3D menu). Our DAE files work very well within Photoshop.

I have been trying to use it with my Photoshop CS3-

Does it only work with “extended: photoshop??

    • Cliff says:

Yes, unfortunately the 3D functionality is only in the extended version. Photoshop CS4 extended has a lot of new 3D functionality. The rendering in 3D is very good. Worth getting if you can.

Ok, if the videos are posted from YouTube no way to see them in China without useing a proxy server. For the proxy connection I’m using the software “Puff the Dragon”, it is working quite well. I will try and let you know.
    Thanks a lot.
